Guest guest
A review of multi-threat medical countermeasures against chemical warfare and terrorism http://www.cwwg.org/ren12.02.04.html this is what I got out of it. Inflammatory responce is a key element in chemical toxicity. the interaction of multiple toxic agents mediates and signals pathways that cause and sustain inflamation. Common biochemical pathways may exist for many chemical agents even if they have diverse chemistrys, sites of action, and symptoms. The presence of inflamation implicates it as a cause or a result of the toxicity of the agent. Inflammatory responce can augment sensativity to chemical toxicities. increased inflamation can synergistically augment chemical toxicity. Anaphylactoid reactions, by definition, occur apon initial exposure to a chemical independent of antibody production. uniformity of biochemicals pathways exists. biochemical pathways associated with chemical toxicity can involve proteases and other molecules, these mediators and receptors can influence inflammatory responces associated with cellular process, such as degranulation, apoptosis, and necrosis that contribute to pathologies caused by chemical agents. Diverce biochemical pathways that influence inflammatory responces may explain why many pathologies associated with intoxication by chemical agents have a inflammatory component. (LPS)inflammagenic endotoxin lipopolysaccharide in a small dose, enhanced the hepatotoxic effects of aflatoxin BP. A similar effect of (LPS) endotoxin occurs with other toxic chemicals and other target organs. (LPS) or inflammatory cytokines TNF or IL-1 enhance cytotoxic effects.
