Be sure to read the BFL Lady Success document in the club Files

section. It's a collection of posts from women who didn't see changes

until 6-8 weeks in and then had good results.

The scale is a horrible way to judge your progress. I think I only

lost about 3 pounds my first challenge but I dropped serious inches

and clothing sizes. As long as you're getting smaller, it doesn't

matter what the scale says. Judge your progress by body fat, tape

measure, and clothes.

And also note that the scale is moving. Most people can expect to lose

1-2 pounds per week. You're right in there with three pounds in your

third week. If you gained a couple pounds of lean mass, you may have

already lost 5-7 pounds of fat.

Take heart in the fact that everybody freaks out at four weeks. They

don't call it a four week freakout for nothin'. :-)

I'm on week three and lost maybe four pounds so far. I know how you are

feeling. I feel so firm but I know no one else can see it like I can. So

that must mean the muscle is there... Your muscle is showing up on the

scale...by the slow weight loss. Your building that muscle while losing the

fat.

How do your clothes feel? Can you see any difference in your body when you

look at it naked?

But your comment is one that I feel.... " You can only build up so much

muscle till you see it on the scale. " ..I feel that way too... I've read that

it

can take up to two to four months for your body to adjust to a new exercise

and nutrition plan and then the body should stop fighting back on holding onto

the weight. Be patient...focus on getting healthy from the inside

out...cause that is what you are doing...the rest will come.

Hi -

What was your starting weight according to your scale?

I realize you didn't record your body fat when you started, but did you

take measurements? Have they changed?

Regardless of that - use the Pants-o-meter. Do your pants fit better? If

you don't own any non-stretch pants, go to a store and find a pair of

pants, and visit them every 4 weeks (ie, find a brand/style that the store

will have regardless of season)

I started my first challenge at about 175 and lost 3# during my first 8-10

weeks. I finished the challenge down a total of 11-13 pounds.

Be sure to read the document in the group's file section titled: BFL LADY

SUCCESS.

Yes, at week 4 I had NOTHING to show for all my clean eating and

excersice...no lower bf, no weight movement, no looser clothes, no

muscle defintions...I was the normal 4 week freak out...see my post

under SCALE not the whole enchilada to see new results. I noticed HUGE

improvement between weeks 7 and 9.

Hang in there.

I am on week 7 day 6 and according to the " pants-o-meter " not much has really

changed ::sniffle:: I have lost 2 inches from my waist and 1 from my hips but

only .5 from my thighs so perhaps that's why but it is VERY discouraging!!

Don't be discouraged. On most women, the lower body is the very last

to go and it requires the most patience and consistency. Be glad that

your measurements are going down instead of up. A lot of women

actually GAIN in their thighs the first couple of weeks. Their leg

muscles get full and pumped and stronger from the new training

demands, but the fat loss hasn't had time to catch up. The fact that

your hips and thighs are shrinking means that the fat loss has kicked

in and you're on your way to lean, solid legs. If you stay strong with

your cardio and your eating, the results will become a lot more

visible now that you've been at it awhile.

It's the paper towel theory of fat loss. When you start

your challenge, you're the jumbo roll. If every pound is one

paper towel, and you lose two or three off of a full-sized

roll, it doesn't look like much has changed. However, at the

end of the challenge when you're closing in on the cardboard,

those same two or three towels wrap around several times and

make a big difference in the size of the roll. So, a two pound

loss is going to be much more visible in the mirror at the end

of the challenge than it was the first week. That's why

people say they see the most noticeable changes later on.
