Guest guest
Great day, ! If you string a bunch of days like that together, you'll be seeing great changes in no time. Good job on eating out and ordering salmon and vegetables. > Yippee for me! I did really well today on food! > > Worked out from 9-10 a.m. ~ Ate Chocolate Oatmeal (protein kind from EFL book) at 10:30 and two huge glasses of water ~ Skipped first snack (only " bummer " of the day), but ate lunch at 1:00 - TUna Salad Wrap (from EFL Book) - with two bottles of water ~ Ate the cheese/cracker/turkey snack from the EFL book around 4:30 - with one bottle of water ~ Ate at Chili's for dinner with a study group - grilled salmon with two cups steamed brocoli on the side - drank two huge glasses of water ~ And as I sit here typing this now... I am drinking a Cookies and Cream shake from the EFL book... !! > > I didn't eat a single " treat " today... although the shake is pretty much like a milkshake to me, lol tastes really good! I thought about having a chocolate pudding pack before class today, and told myself no! :-) Just knowing that I got through one day, makes me want to keep doing it... and even though it WAS hard not to eat something sweet and full of sugar... I just have to stay the course! > > Don't worry, you guys won't get these emails everyday... but one day is a huge feat for me to get through without getting the munchies! Guest guest
Thanks ! :-) As I type this I am at school... (3rd year college) and I am just sooo proud of myself. I was running out of time this morning before I left for class (yah! but managed to eat another bowl of protein-rich chocolate oatmeal), and said that I could just buy lunch at subway (which in my terms means a chicken/bacon ranch wrap, chips and soda - usually) - but told myself NO. No matter how late I'm running, I can always throw something together. So, I put a little cup of cottage cheese and a container of yogurt in my lunch " box " for my mid-morning snack, and then grabbed a " southbeach diet " wrap lunch (two whole wheat tortillas, oven roasted turkey, shredded cheese, a little mayo, and a dessert of sugar-free jello (maybe 1/4 cup?).... and that is what I am going to eat in half an hour. I feel silly walking around campus with a lunch box, lol but at least it keeps me away from the urge of buying food on campus. AND, I found two hershey kisses in the lunch box that I put there pre-challenge .... and I dumped them in the trash ha ha... no need to have the temptation. Yah for me... ! Thanks again for the encouragement everyone!!! :-) Sorry to babble so much! Skwigg wrote: Great day, ! If you string a bunch of days like that together, you'll be seeing great changes in no time. Guest guest
That's great ! I'm in school too and it's SO hard to balance work and school and trying to do that challenge... Guest guest
, Your enthusiasm is contagious Great choices this morning. About the lunch box...maybe you are an inspiration to others who'll follow your example. I love to play those mind games with myself where I try to morph a negative thought and see the positive possiblities. M.

Guest guest
Glad someone can relate! :-) I guess I should be thankful though, at least all my classes are near the Subway on campus, instead of the other end of campus with Pizza Hut, etc. :-) So if I DO have to eat out, at least it will be semi-healthy at subway - just have to remember NO CHIPS and NO soda! :-) I actually found that La Choy's " Rice Noodles " (crunchy salad topping) provide me with the crunch I need on some days. For 1/2 a cup, it is 4 grams of fat, but I usually only eat maybe 2 finger pinches (maybe 2 tablespoons, if that)... so instead of reaching for fat free pringles - I just grab a couple pinches of the Rice Noodles, and find that my " crunch " need is satisfied... I'm a weird one... I tell ya! :-) Ellingson wrote: That's great ! I'm in school too and it's SO hard to balance work and school and trying to do that challenge... Guest guest
Yes, no chips, no soda! It's amazing how I've almost completely cut out Diet soda from my diet... I used to drink at least 32 oz a day and now I don't really drink any, ever... Water is just as good if I want something to drink. I think it's a good thing I don't like rice noodles because I would be eating them like crazy... What gets me is almonds, mmmm... BUT, they have good fat and carbs and protien so I don't beat myself up about it too much. I only have to be on campus for a 4 hour chunk of time so it's easy for me to eat before and just take along a BFL bar or something and eat it between classes. But the days I work and go to school, oh man, still haven't figured an easy way to manage those days K Re: Have to report... > > > > Thanks ! :-) As I type this I am at school...
Guest guest
, I am in the third year of college too. My university has lockers for rent, $10 a year, in the different buildings. Maybe you could look around for something like that, a place to stash your lunch box. I have one of those soft-sided small coolers, would hold 12 cans of soda if nothing else was in there. I fill that up every morning and tote it off to school with me. If it's in the cooler I can eat it, if it isn't I can't. Good for you for not letting falling into an old habit and sticking to your goals! Guest guest
, I used to be addicted to soda... I actually didn't drink much soda during high school, or first part of college, but once my husband and I went on our honeymoon for two weeks to cancun/playa del carmen... our second hotel made us pay for bottled water (even though it was all inclusive) so instead, we just lived it up on coca-cola and margaritas, lol... and I came back with an addiction to coke... but have cut it out of my diet... every now and again, I'll have a little 100 calorie coke, but I only buy the little ones for me so I don't drink a huge can. :-) You know, it might not seem ideal for some to have it even in the fridge, but I figure if I can go without drinking it and then every once in a blue moon enjoy a small can... at least it was a small can and not a big one, cuz we have the big cans too - which my husband drinks. :-) - Ellingson wrote: Yes, no chips, no soda!
