Guest guest
The FDA Globalization Act of 2008 will directly impact the cosmetics industry. Of particular interest in the Discussion Draft is the number of fees proposed. There are fees for registration, reregistration, reinspection, certification, certifying agent accreditation, laboratory accreditation, export certification, and importer registration. The implications of passage of this draft legislation are obvious and far reaching, and should it become law, it will have a definitive and immediate effect. If you or anyone you know is a soapmaker, perfumer or one who makes balms, unguents, bath products, etc, they're potentially going to be negatively impacted. Just factor in $2,000 to $10,000 fees annually all thanks to the FDA.
