've done it. I am hispanic w/very hairy, coarse, tough hair. I had it

done in my bikini, chin and upper lip.

The results were an 7 out of 10. Meaning, I still have hair, except

that is not as coarse, and not over the place anymore. I used to have

to wax WEEKLY (chin) now I have to wax 1 a month. Still, I was told

that I would never have to wax.

Also, it hurts...like little burns, but the pain is for a sec at the

time.

As you can see my results were mixed.

However, keep in mind that my hair was very tough.

I did it about 4 years ago on my lip. It was GREAT! I never waxed or

used anything for a long time! But recently I've been tweezing again,

they're baaaaaack... It's time to go back and get them lasered off.

I highly recommend it. But everyone's experience is different.

Whatever your hair situation is, it'll make it better, at least for a

few years.

I read somewhere that they say to go back yearly for some sort of re-

do, touch up, but they didn't tell me that when I got it done. Maybe I

did it wrong.

I'd soooo love to get my legs done (lower) and maybe even my armpits.

But it's so expensive.

I have done it too. I also have sort of olive toned skin and coarse

thick hair. I had my bikini area done. It does hurt a little and you

have to go back for several treatments at certain intervals (every 5

weeks, I think). It has something to do with the hair growth cycle.

One treatment will not get rid of all the hair. I think I went 5 or

so times. I still have some hair remaining but it is much finer and

easier to manage so I think it was definitely worth it.

I had laser hair removal 4 years ago on my face and I LOVED IT. It was

about 1$250 for all of it, but SO worth it. I want to get it done again,

just as a touch up, and I want to get it done on certain areas on my torso

and of course, really, all over my body lol. But it DOES hurt, it felt like

a million little shots to me because you can feel the laser go down into

your hair folicle, but I WILL have it done again probably within the next

year.

When I had electrolysis, I used a cream, EMLA, prescription, but it

numbed the pain terrifically.

How many sessions did it take to remove your facial hair?

How frequent were the sessions (every 4 weeks? every 8 weeks?)

Had you tried electrolysis prior to the laser treatments?

Thanks

No electrolysis... I went every 4-6 (just depended on when I could work my

schedule) and it took about 4 treatments... Some people need up to 6 or

more. And like I said, I DO need a touch up... I dont feel like it's

regrowth, I just think it's brand new hair all together... I have higher

than normal levels of testosterone (makes weight training fun tho!) so I

think it's just more hormones and everything causing new growth. I really

feel like the hair that was zapped is 100% gone. The only place it didn't

work too well was my upper lip because the hair wasn't as coarse there. The

hair on my jawline and cheeks was like male facial hair and BLACK so it

responded really well. My upper lip is just a little darker and a LITTLE

more coarse than normal, so I still need to bleach that every once in awhile

since it was harder for the lasers to zap those ones away.

:) Yeah I almost fell out of my chair when he said it was that cheap... I

haven't had it done yet, but SOMETHING tells me maybe he was mistaken...

Maybe that's how much it is after insurance? Altho I know my insurance

wouldn't cover any of it... When I have it done I will report back!

I'm in Eugene Oregon, and it's a joint clinic so I see Olson and Troy

Richey... I would call around to actual dermatologists in your area and ask

if they have an asthetician who does it, it's cheaper than having the real

dermatologist do it, but it's still in a Dr's office if there are any

problems... MUCH safer than the mall, I would NEVER get it done in one of

those places... They over charge WAY too much and I just don't feel safe

THANK YOU! Thanks to all who responded! I have a joke with my

friends that for each kid, you get another inch of growth down your

leg! LOL BUT I am calling to have this done. I hope it isn't too

much money. I'm not worried about the pain. I do waxing and I don't

think that hurts. ;) I just hate the ingrown hairs. gack. It

doesn't look nice for very long either.

Kimmer,

So do your arms have no hair or a little? I'm considering this and

debating b/w arms or legs. I've always hated my hairy (dark) arms ,

but i'm wondering how dramatic the change will be, i.e. would it look

natural?
