Guest guest
I rarely do cardio on an empty stomach. If I try to do that, I find that I don't eat my first meal until 9:30 or 10am, and the whole day is off-kilter. The only time I sometimes do cardio on an empty stomach is Saturday, when the kids sleep in and I just get up and do it; otherwise, I'm busy getting them ready and off to school, and then I wind up sitting down to read the paper, and suddenly - I haven't done the cardio AND I haven't eaten! n At 09:22 AM 4/2/2006, you wrote: >empty stomach? Guest guest
that is what happened to me today. I accidentally slept let which my son doesn't ussually let me do and I wake up and it's 9:30 and im thinking not only is my stomach not wanting to run but if I do the cardio then by the time I eat breakfast it will be 10 something and that just makes things weird. > >empty stomach? Guest guest
I really don't want to be at the gym at 5:30 AM (The time I would have to workout if I wanted to exercise first, then eat due to my dh's schedule for work.) I am a SAHM. I have all day to workout. My schedule is something like this: 7AM Snack 8AM workout 10AM breakfast 12PM snack 3PM Lunch 5PM snack 7PM Dinner OR 7AM Breakfast 8AM workout 10 AM Snack 12 Lunch 3PM Snack 6PM Dinner 9PM Snack - if hungry OR if I am staying up late. I find if I wait until 9:30/10AM to eat after my workout, I am too hungry! I would be anywhere...especially in the closet eating Oreos if I waited that long to eat. This is just my schedule right now and works for me. I have a kindergartener so the mornings are good for me to workout once they are in school. I haven't even tried to do my workout first thing. It's just not worth it for me to be up that early, come flying in the door to get breakfast, kids ready etc. Kari > > empty stomach? Guest guest
If you do cardio later in the day, don't wait three hours after you eat. That means you'll be going over 4 hours without food and that's way too long. Wait 2 hours max, then do cardio, then wait an hour to eat. Personally, I eat before and immediately after every workout. Some people eat before and after weights (feed muscle) but do cardio on an empty stomach and wait an hour (starve fat). It's a matter of finding what works best for you. Getting the workout done is obviously a lot more important than getting the timing just right. On 4/2/06, Alyssa <alyssie@...> wrote: > empty stomach? Guest guest
This is true lol i had just thought I had read somewhere that it takes three hours after you eat for your stomach to be empty. I guess it read wrong. Anyway I only waited an hour and a half today. Thanks for the advice > > empty stomach? Guest guest
I RARELY work out first thing in the morning. I generally get to work by 6am and my gym doesn't open until 5:30. In fact, I have almost always worked out at night. Sometimes, on Saturdays I will take a Spinning class before breakfast. I've been doing the BFL thing for almost 2 years and I've been very successful. Now with that being said, I do make exceptions. I admit that before a vacation or another occasion where I have to wear revealing clothing, shorts, etc, I will make a concerted effort to work out first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and the only thing that gets me through it is that I know it's temporary. I cannot do it all the time. I just hate mornings too much and if I hate working out, I'll start missing my workouts and that is disaster for me. I'm working on it, but I am kind of an all or nothing person. When I'm in one of my serious fat-burning modes and I'm doing early morning workouts and everything and I can't get an early morning workout in, I'll add some cardio AFTER my ubwo and my lbwo. I have to say that it is tiring, but I notice a big difference in how fast the muscles start showing and the fat starts leaving when I'm uber- disciplined. Ordinarily though, I workout where it fits my schedule and I'm perfectly happy and healthy doing that. I hope that made sense and didn't make me sound too crazy. > > empty stomach? Guest guest
Not at all, it makes perfect sense to me. I think after a few weeks of getting used to the 20 minute method i may try and add it a few more days a week after my upper and lower body workouts. I've actually heard that doing cardio AFTER weights(if its a weight lifting day that is)is the best way to do it when your doing both in the same day. > > > > empty stomach?
