Hi,

I'm new to the group. I have a 3 and a half year old son with quite severe ASD. He developed normally until 15 months and then gradually started to regress, he had adverse reaction to 3rd vaccination at that age- taken by ambulance to hosp due to high temp/ mild fitting, by 2yrs he was completely non-verbal, constantly ill with constant diarroeah, he stopped sleeping through the night, high pitched screaming/giggles, stimming..etc. He also started refusing foods and his diet has been drastically decreasing over the last year and a half.

Anyway medical profession been no help at all- all i ever get is it is 'because of his autism'. Had 6 MONTH WAIT FOR dietician, she put him on supplements- gut and sleeping improved but we decided to start GF/CF diet and now he won't have his supplements with any of the porridges/cereals as he doesn't like the breakfasts. He also has stopped eating bananas-his last fruit/veg and is living on GF/CF/MSG free biscuits, basmati rice and baked bean juice at mo! Obviously can't continue like this! Any ideas? Is there a subtle supplement i can put in his natural squash (which he has only just started drinking?). Also any other ideas to get an ASD child to eat/ try new/old foods?

By the way i am also a primary teacher and i had a 5 month battle with LEA to get my son a statement and suitable nursery place- if anyone wants info about statementing process let me know and i will try to help.
