Lots of people in the MMA room, including some gothicky women and there was also a slender looking emo dude on the eliptical. Third Eye Jiujitsu was walking funny, turns out he has really thick calluses on his feet and they cracked, poor guy! the Wrestler was at the front desk and G., the trainer who will never look me in the eye or smile was also there and looked away from me when I was hanging out. It was the usual 3 squat machines, one hamstring machine, and 2 shoulder machines. While on the leg press this hunky guy said, " At one point I was doing legs with Noel too and he gave me a great pair of legs! " I hope my grunting didn't put him off too much. I just can't talk and do these squat machines at the same time! I fail the " talk test " ! (Kassia, look that one up in your AFAA book!) Noel was chatty and I learned that for my rice portion I only get half a cup of rice with my chicken and half a large sweet potato. Here all along I'd been having double that. He said, " you should be going to bed on the hungry side every night " . Gulp. Well I had some good days and some bad days this last week. I didn't lose any weight but I am down a pant size and I'm thrilled about that, also this is my fat part of the month where I'm very bloated and he understood that. The pms topic sort of morphed into raunchy talk, but nothing offensive or inappropriate. I was able to laugh and talk back for the hamstring and shoulder machines.Tomorrow after work I get to work out with my other trainer of sorts, my girlfriend ! She pushes me too and is so fun to work out with! What I love about is that she comes up with some very creative exercises that she learned from various trainers she's had. Hope to get up at 4:00 tomorrow and resume my a.m. workouts. This morning I got up just fine but my body was telling me that after 3.5 hours I had done on Monday that I needed to take a break and save my energy for Noel. Because I'm doing back and bi's with it will most likely be Pilates leg, butt and core work, which pinpoints very different lower body than parts that Noel works. The pilates workouts seem to target more of the adductors, abductors, and butt muscles that squats don't necessarily hit. Some athletic stretching is also in order.
