Guest guest
We're in a crazy situation right now. My son, 19 months, has a port. He went in for regular IVIG infusion yesterday. My mom took him as she normally does for me and she was tired and distracted and accidentally put his oral pre-meds (benadryl and motrin) through his port. (My daughter has a g-tube and also does IVIG and we always give her meds through her g-tube so that's how my mom got so confused and messed the meds up). Needless to say Josh is now in the hospital, spiking fevers and possibly has a bacterial infection. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this happening before? If so and you can tell me about it I would be really, really grateful. I want to know what was done to treat the child and what the outcome was. Josh is on IV fluids and IV antibiotics right now. I'd really appreciate any help. Jenn Mom to , 19 months CVID, Cassidy, 8 years CVID & CF
