Guest guest
1. Controlling portion size is a big factor in successfully losing weight. Often when you go out to eat, where you can't control the portions, your plate comes piled high with food. To control the urge to plow through it all, divide your plate into the portion you choose to eat...then salt the heck out of the rest. Voila! No more temptation. 2. If you are already in a binge state of carbs and sugars, stop and make yourself a salad with Blue Cheese dressing. This salad is important for two reasons. First, the intense taste breaks the 'binge cycle' for whatever you wanted. And second it provides the fiber to help balance out the insulin response (read that 'fat hormone') that is released when you have too many carbs. 3. When you are really craving something... take a small piece of 85% cocoa chocolate bar (I got mine at Safeway) and dip it into a smallll bit of peanut butter. Once again the intense flavor does the trick. You get the salty, sweet, creamy goodness and it is rich enough that you don't want more. Does anyone else have any favorite tips?
