Guest guest
Some of you may recall that my son, , 9, has had problems with the Hizentra since he switched (from Vivaglobin) in the Spring. We have done tons of premeds to reduce his side effects. He has had chronic migraines and we think that his extreme leg pains and behavior changes are all due to the Hizentra also. Now, he has been in the hospital with full-blown aseptic meningitis (diagnosed with spinal tap). So, after being off meds long enough to return to baseline behavior, no headaches or other pains, etc., now home--he received his first dose of subcutaneous 10% Gammagard this morning--4 grams over 2 hours--and reacted within 25 minutes of the end of the infusion. Next week, we are talking about doing the infusion overnight, very slowly, probably as our only other option. Anyone else experience aseptic meningitis with SUBCUTANEOUS immune globulin?? What did you do to counteract it? any other suggestions? I am at wit's end here. Many thanks, Mindy, in Virginia mom to , 9, CVID, mostly nonverbal autism, mitochondrial disease
