See my initial post on March 17. I'm Dennis Elya, 57 now and I'm happily married

to my girlfriend Bev for 34 years. We both have had weight issues on and off

(mostly on). I'm currently about 70 pounds over. We have one son, 31, who is

married and in Texas in the Army. 2 grandkids 7 and Madison 11.

We are active square dancers - 2 or 3 night a week mostly in central Missouri.

My wife loves to ride her bike for exercise. Me ? If I was to do anything for

exercise it would be running. I just need to get going on my program again. Sure

would be great to get that runners high - get my endurance back to peek

condition again.

I'm a math and science guy. My navy days as a Reactor Operator on the nuclear

powered cruiser USS Bainbridge CGN-25 (1974 - 1978) sealed my fate in the

nuclear power field. I work in the Metrology Lab at a nuclear power plant,

calibrating test equipment (meters, gauges, torque wrenches, micrometers, etc).

I also get to work out in the plant, doing repair work and testing if the

process group is shorthanded. I've been there for 28 years.

I'm on facebook and would like to connect with other IOWL folks. I also use the

" weRead (Books iRead ) " application on facebook. I love reading, too.

I'm looking forward to the inside changes that are already happening to make me

a " naturally slender " person!
