Guest guest
Congrats on shopping in a small sized shop not from the big girls' side of the store, !! I know what a wonderful feeling that is from my own experiences and celebrating it with others! "Weigh" to go!!! :-) extra hard leg day with Noel + the back room I arrived a bit early to the gym. I can never tell by the buses the exact time I'll be there so I'm usually early - I hate being late and would rather err on the side of early. Someone else was scheduled but they were late so we got started on legs anyway. At squat machine #1, on set 2 I was already up to around 200 pounds. Man, it was hard! And then I got to do 3 more sets of 200 pounds on machine #2. I used to think machine #1 was the hardest but now I'd have to say it's machine #2 where you're standing - machine #1 you're lying back at a bit of an incline. For the leg presses we started at 200 lbs, AND THEN HE ADDED MORE 45 LB PLATES. I'm like, "You've GOT to be kidding me!!" With six (6) 45 pound plates + the carriage I was pressing over 270 pounds! I confess that I did close my eyes and audibly grunted on this one, as it was *really* hard. After that we did the hamstring curl machine when his other client, who was late, showed up. Noel had me hang with Troy in the MMA room and said he would come back to fetch me for shoulders when he was done. My legs were trembling, so I took off my shoes and stretched, did a side angle plank for 30 seconds on each side and held a regular plank for 1 minute.Troy (aka Third Eye Jiu-Jitsu) and I got to talking about past hair styles and such and he went to the back room to get a photo album to show me. I've always seen people go into this back room but had never been back there myself so I followed him. It's like a studio apartment back there, and a staircase going up to another floor! Now I'm really curious to see what's up there. I believe Troy rents the space from Noel along with the MMA room where he holds his trainings. It was a blast seeing Troy's high school photos with 80's long hair and his trip to Costa Rica and getting to know him a little better. Noel came in later and grabbed me for two machines' worth of shoulders, and then we were done. This gay guy and I were both trying to hit up Noel to find muscle guys for us to go out with, and I was pushing for him to organize a Fitness Singles Club.It was an extra special session, and I was already in a fantastic mood because on my lunch break I went to Forever 21 and found a nice top and a cute pair of undies that actually fit, and they weren't from the big girls' side of the store either! I was grinning from ear to ear in the dressing room when the nice top for work fit perfectly. Normally I associate Forever 21 with tiny Asian women, teenagers with no boobs yet, and anorexics that chain smoke. I was ecstatic that something from there fit me! It's definitely motivation to keep going with the diet and heavy lifting.I checked in with (the Wrestler) on the way out and neither of us have lost a pound yet. Noel further modified my diet, so not only do I only get 150 carbs per day I also only get 20-30 grams of fat per day max boy, that takes even more of the fun out of it! I failed on both of those stats today but will get on track with this tomorrow for sure. I just have to mentally prepare myself for bland eating for awhile with a goal in sight. Of course there will be a cheat day here and there but by and large I really need to stick to something predictably clean.I have DOMS in my legs already, so I know that I will be in a world of pain for the next 3 days at the very least, no running for me! I'm praying I can at least do a long yoga session on Sunday (I was surprised to learn that Troy had done Bikram yoga and said it was one of the harder workouts he'd ever done) Wobbly legged,

Guest guest
Trust me, in about 6 hours I will feel every single footstep, especially going down stairs. I hope to walk the bridges at lunch to help shake things out and to get some walking in before my legs really seize up! I've been training with Noel for a year and we certainly didn't start out at 200+ lbs - Stacey I'm sure if you trained with him for a year you could do it too! Someday I'll be as strong as Darcy! > > laura, > i'm not sure how you can even get home after leg day--the leg machines would crush me.
