Quick post, in the middle of a million things. It is a rest day and my day off and I once again trid the 10 Minute Power Walk with Ellen Barrett off the Weight Watchers Walking Kit DVD. The kit has a DVD with a 10, 20 and 30 minute walk, plus this one and it also has an audio CD to take with you walking outside. I tried it once before in a bad mood and quit half way through. This time I did the whole thing as a warm-up for yoga. This is my first exposure to Ellen and I found her delightful but talkative. She reminded me a lot of ! I liked her a lot though and am interested in trying more of her workouts now. I borrowed this from one of the WW centers to see if what it was like. I'm glad I only borrowed it because it is VERY beginner. Even this "power walk" only got my heart rate up to 120 and I don't think that was for long at all. Much too low intensity for me if this is the power walk (I didn't try the others). I've got others for light/recovery days. However, I think it would be excellent for people who have been sedentary and/or are overweight and want to start adding activity to their lives. Ellen's cueing is great, the moves are simple, all low impact and the music is pretty good. I'm glad I at least tried it.

After Ellen I did Rodney Yee's AM Yoga for Beginners. I was looking for stretches for my overworked hip flexors and glutes and maybe I went looking in the wrong place. It was a wakeup and get your blood flowing kind of practice so he moves very quickly through it. I probably would have been better off with a PM one where he might be more likely to hold stretches longer. I don't honestly know when I would do this since I primarily use yoga for calming and/or stretching. Rodney is gorgeous as always but it is voiceover and the cues and actions don't always match up well either and that bugs me too so it will probably go into the trade pile.

After Rodney I got some WW paperwork done that I'd been putting off and that took forever. I was a bit stressed when I was done and went back downstairs for more yoga! I had left my mat out in case I wanted to because I really needed some stretching. I did the Hip Mobility practice off the beginner menu of Yoga for Every Body and that was wonderful. Now, I think I'm done with yoga for the day. Just finished lunch and it is time to tackle other things I've been putting off but which must be done TODAY. Will try to get back and read/respond to posts later. Thanks for letting me just post my accountablity workout reviews!
