As a result of my on going health situation, my eyes were infected with a vicious virus that threatened to take my eyesight. Due to the miracle of medicine and the God given skills of a team of fantastic doctors, the virus that attacked my eyes (CMV) was pushed into remission before my eyesight was permanently removed. I still have difficulties seeing, especially at night. But, the deterioration was halted in time. The virus is still present, but being kept at bay. It cannot be permanently eradicated, only put in remission. Much like some other things I deal with. So, that part, I’m used to by now. One day at a time. <smiles>Tomorrow I go to UNC-CH Kitner Eye Center to start a five year eye study for people like myself. It will not be too invasive, as far as I know, but it may help those like me in the future. I hope that my participation will allow me to give back some little bit to the doctors who helped me as they help other patients. I am looking forward to the day, with some excitement. Although it will be a long, early morning drive, longer day, and return trip. Fortunately, Mark will be driving. <grin>
