Guest guest
Hi!A blast from the mid-90's this morning! 1994, to be exact. I pulled out Jane Fonda's Step and Stretch. This is a fun step workout. It isn't complex and it isn't killer in intensity - but it is fun to do. Jane does not lead the step portion - instead there are four instructors who co-lead, each teaching a combo and moving on - the instructors were LeMay, Jay Blahnik (sp?), who also choreographed many of Jane's other workouts, Shelton (I think, not sure - but she is a big name in the behind the scenes video world), and Laurel Sparks (who is in many of Jane's workouts). The music was nice and went with all of the combos. The production values were also good. The pace is slower than what we are used to seeing these days in step workouts, but that isn't a bad thing, more time to focus on form. The choreography is not tricky and there is enough repetition in there so that if you found something difficult you would have time to practice it. They use a smaller step than the club step, so I just used the 6 inch portion of my TransFIRMer which worked well since I have this workout on VHS, and needed to do it in a more crowded area. Overall, it was great for this morning. It has been really hot and humid here lately which makes it hard to want to press onward with extreme intensity. Following the step portion there is a 15 minute stretch that Jane Fonda leads. It is your basic athletic stretches. She hits just about everything though, so it is a good one to do. Tomorrow it is back to Huckabee for the last two workotus of the PowerFIT rotation. I have an ambitious agenda - lower body, upper body with an add on of cardio and abs from Shape's Get Lean in 4 weeks. Take care!Donna
