Guest guest
Hi . My daughter has been seeing this therapist for 3 months. She saw 2 others over a 3 year time and never had results. I think the difference is that my daughter feels like she has a relationship with this therapist and never felt a connection with the others. This therapist is also just really good at a lot of different things and using a variety of methods. You are a right, it is bizarre that her method of not looking like a person with a mental disorder is exactly what makes her look like one. It is weird how the brain works sometimes. I hope things are improving for your son. Kim In a message dated 6/18/2007 4:07:16 P.M. Central Daylight Time, noahfsmom@... writes: Kim, That's really interesting. How long has your daughter been seeing this therapist? My 11 yr old son is seeing a psychotherapist in addition to us pursuing CBT. So far, I haven't seen any results. Mostly, I'm there for the medication, but he does go weekly, so there's a hope that maybe something will come out. Your daughter's story makes me more optimistic. Now, I guess, you can address her fear of hospitalization. But isn't it bizarre that her method of not looking like someone with a mental disorder is exactly what makes her look like one?
