I got an hour of working out in today, it was a hodge podge! I started with Druce / Fitness Essential's Fit Dance Jam, a misleading title because it's 30 minutes of very easy cardio kickboxing.  This would be perfect for someone who is at a zero fitness level but it was too easy for me, even for a light day, so it will go into the " for sell " pile on Ebay.  Denice cues well and the techno boxing music is perfect for the workout!  She cues off count in a few places and switches on " 7 " which drove me nuts but it's otherwise a very nice beginner workout.  It was 30 minutes long.

Next was a 10 minute sweatfest with Weber's new Extreme Cardio Kettlebell Workout 2- I did the routine called The Flow.  I was dripping sweat by the time I was done, and used a 15 lb bell throughout.  I could go up next time to 20 lbs except for the windmills:

10 double handed swings10 ATG squats10 slingshots10 good mornings10 high pulls (upright rows)10 thrusters10 hot potatoes5 windmills each side5 overhead squats per side10 between the legs pass (not a figure 8, it's lower, really works the legs)

10 presses10 tactical lunges5 clean and press per side10 snatches per side is as hunky as ever, this time shirtless, and on the same beach.  He is so " real " , to the point, and that's part of his appeal.  I can't say enough good things about his 2 dvd's.  They are spendy, but worth every penny!

Now for the day's highlight:  Turbo Fire HIIT 15!  I lost the piece of paper where I wrote down the drills GRRR!!!  But basically there are 3 sets of drills and you repeat each one three times, so basically you are doing NINE one minute turbos with about 30 seconds of rest in between.  Chalene previews the drill first in a low impact mode before you do it for real 3x, which really helps.  Ali shows the low impact modifications, and I was surprised that I didn't need to follow her for anything!  I was so happy about this!

In short, there are lots of jacks, air jacks, plunges, high knee runs, jump knee tucks, etc.  I was DRIPPING in sweat by the end, and felt that this workout complemented Weber's workout really well!

I ended with Turbo Fire's Stretch 10 - which I like better than Stretch 40, actually, the reason being that Stretch 40 is pretty much like most of the vinyasa type power yoga workouts I already have, whereas Stretch 10 has a very unique part to it, and that is exercises and stretches for the rotator cuff.  Very nice!  There aren't enough regular athletic stretch routines out there.  If Chalene makes more routines for this series I hope she will add another stretch routine, but one that is more along the lines of Debbie Sieber's Cool It Off - more athletic, less yoga-ish, just because there are fewer really good athletic stretch workouts out there (and lots and lots of vinyasa yoga practices already available).

Lastly I smashed out my shins and IT bands on the foam roller. My last session with Noel for awhile is tomorrow (back and biceps)  and I'm bummed :( but I'm super broke for awhile.  I'm very grateful to have these new Turbo Fire workouts and Weber's dvd to see me through the next month, I cannot WAIT to experience ALL of them!
