Chest and Triceps with Noel

Today was another beautiful spring lunch hour sans rain so I grabbed my iPod and listened to both & Dunn and P.I.L. during my 3 mile walk.  How's that for an identity crisis?  When I arrived at Fitness I was greeted by Zoa at the front desk!  I think she may have even vaguely remembered me.  I was also greeted by Troy, aka Third Eye JiuJitsu, who said, " !  On Saturdays here at 1:30 (I think that's the time he said, I'm confirming) we have for just $5 a 1 1/2 hour JiuJitsu class!  If you don't have a gui we have them here!

I told him I had a gui from my hapkido days and would be there.  I will humbly attend with my white belt and hope I remember something from my term of martial arts at PSU!  I can hardly wait!  I use to LOVE going to my hapikdo class, it really took me way out of my comfort zone.  I never knew if I was going to be flipped over someone's shoulder or if we would have to execute punches, kicks and blocks on command.  My favorite part was always the kick drills on the mitts.  I soooo hope we do that!  The part I disliked the most was the grab and throw portion of class, though that's probably what I would need to master in a real life situation if some thug grabbed me on the street. .

Todays chest workout was HARD.  I mean, they all are, but I was on 4 chest machines this time instead of 3 and after the last tricep machine my arms were trembling.  We were alone in the second room and I got a heart to heart talk about the diet.  Everything Noel said was true, but sometimes you just need to be told face to face, eye to eye.  It was sincere and heartfelt.  I know he truly wants to see me succeed.

I know I haven't lost as much weight as I should be because of diet, it isn't really the cardio factor in my opinion.  And I need the cardio, I literally get high off it.  The motocross racer I went out with last week is also very much into health and fitness, doesn't drink, eats only organic, and eats pretty much the way Noel prescribes so this might be a good support system if we become better friends.

Tomorrow it's just Maylorie and I at Studio LouLou.  Because my upper body has been killed tonite by Noel, I'm thinking Les Mills' Body Step and Yoga Journal's Yoga for Flexibility will be on the agenda.

Thursday I get to play the role of personal trainer with my coworker Steve at the gym in our building, the Sweat Shop.  It will be a lower body routine of some sort, so tonite I need to watch some videos to drum up a good routine after warming up on the cardio machines for 15 minutes or so.  It's not an elaborate weight room at all, not even as spiffy as some gyms in large apartment complexes, but what sold me on it is that there is a heavy bag in there!  YEEESSS!   And it's only $24 a year.   How can you afford not to?

So now I belong to 4 gyms - 24 Hour Fitness, Fitness, the Sweat Shop, and let's not forget, Studio LouLou!Hugs,
