Guest guest
I think I've been asking myself that question for longer than I should. I can't for the life of me figure out what it is, unless there is some weird thing known as " big family syndrome. " For some reason I picked up on a strange habit I have, or even stranger, a line of thinking. " I don't eat, I snarf. " Seriously, I have this irrational fear when food is around that if I don't eat it, or I don't pile as much as I think I'll eat on my plate, then someone else will eat it and I won't have an opportunity to have any at all! And, heaven forbid I don't finish what's on my plate, because that's " wasteful " and someone else could have enjoyed my uneaten portion because they didn't quite get as much as they wanted. I don't understand this, because never in my life have I ever gone hungry! There's probably been multiple times when I didn't get a cookie or a cupcake that everyone else ate some of, but *never* have I been actually without nourishment. So this blows my mind. Alot of my meals are family oriented, we eat together, so I've noticed this weird behavior seems to only arise when I have to share food. It's worse when there are limited portions, like with pizza or takeout. Then, I have this other nifty dilemma. My mother. She buys junk food in bulk. My dad and I have tried to discourage her, we've had the sit down talk, but she still comes home from the store with chips, dips, cookies, and candies...all the time. I need a little guidance. Guest guest
Charlotte I'm the same way. I actually get anxious when I try to leave food on my plate. My DH said something interesting the other day. We were talking about my grandmother and how she " favored " my male cousin cause, well, he was a boy (Italian thing). My other cousin, his sister, was the homemaker, sewer, etc and I asked my husband, what was I? He said, " you were the good eater. " BOY did that resonate with me. I WAS! Those two never ate. They were skinny, skinny and my grandmother used to say, " Why don't you eat like Bonnie. " So, I eat to please my grandmother. I'm the good eater!!!! Bonnie Thoughts become things. Choose the good ones. On Jul 27, 2009, at 8:12 PM, Charlotte wrote: > I think I've been asking myself that question for longer than I > should.
