Guest guest
Jake is 9 and was diagnosed 7 years ago and has been on Ig for 7 years. He is doing great now..which wasn't always the case...it was real rough there for a while. We are finally at the point where we can " breathe " it seems. Not always this case with PID as you all know. Well My daughter is 13...she has been sickly with colds, sinus infections, cruop, and ear infections her entire life....but nothing to the degree of Jake. She would take antibiotics for the most part and get better...they would come back...more antibiotics..get better..and so on...usually spring and summer are good...except the past 18 months. She has had croup 3 times, ear infections, and 5 sinus infections. So our Ped sent us to the Allergist/Immunologist (my sons immunologist) he tested her for allergies..nothing but dust mites, decided to draw an immune work up...just because of Jake...he said " Misty, normally I wouldn't do this for any kid that walked in the door but with Jake having a problem we are going to just rule it out with Rylee..don't worry. " Her results came back. Her Igg was 688 (low) and she is not making titers to pneumoccocal, chickenpox, and Hib. Of course we are going to re-vaccinatie and re-draw in 4-6 weeks. So what do the experts on the board think? should I be worried? Of course I am thinking the worst!
