Guest guest Posted January 23, 2011 Report Share Posted January 23, 2011 When we did it, I found that if there was any product on the needle (from priming it) it would burn, even with EMLA. So before I inserted, I would take the alcohol wipe that I was going to use to clean her site an wipe the outside of the needle to be sure there was no product on it at all. This was usually all it took to make for pain free insertions. Just a thought.
