Hi my 6 year old daughter Madeline had her 5 month follow up after beginning

IVIG for 3 months and then moving to SCIG Hizentra. Maddy has CVID with

antibody deficiency and poor memory b cell response. Her IGG levels are low

and her avidity testing showed what reponses she did make for her pneumovax were

not even functioning.

She has been doing well as far as illness considering we made it through the

winter with only 1 antibiotic vs. monthly hospitalizations and living on RX! No

asthma/prednisone issues either.

Anyway, she just had her lab tests drawn to check her trough level and see if we

need to adjust any medication doses. It showed they were close to 1000 which is

where they should be on the SCIG, but her labs did show she had a decrease in

her IGM (which was normal before) and her total population for memory B cells

had also decreased.

I was told that they would watch this and if that it stayed the same of went

lower they would put her back on the prophylactic antibiotics to prevent serious

infections. (she had been on them in the past prior to IVIG and SCIG and they

didn't stop any infections from coming on through).

So my questions are if anyone else has experienced this and what it means. I

thought the IVIG/SCIG should increase everything because it is replacing what

she is missing. It increased her IGG trough levels but her IGM's went down and

the memory b cell population decreased. A litte confused and worried.

Any advice is appreciated :) Thanks,
