Guest guest
I can assure you that if you do not put him back on and get his immune system up, he can most definitely have permanent damage from the continued infections, that is why it is so dangerous for our kids in he first place. I have to say, if your Dr and your husband are recommending it, it most likely needs done. Please try the subq, you may love it once you get the hang of it, really we have done so many and it really becomes old hat quickly!! and the side effects are next to nothing, I swear!! The biggest reason (other than the Dr's preferring subq) that Makenzie chose it, was because she didnt like the side effects caused by the IVIG, the list is way longer and the side effects can last several days, well with subq if there are any they dont last long at all, if only a few hours, Makenzie did NOT want to feel sick intentionally while trying to medicate to get better, so SHE chose subq and has no problems with it, Friday after school is infusion day, and that is that Also, my husband was the one that didnt want her doing anything like this, he thought, those Drs arent doing one more thing to our daughter, she has been thru enough!!! well he is eating his words now and will tell you how amazed he is and that it was finally the answer she needed!!! because all the continued infections are very bad for them and can most definitely cause long term life problems left untreated, Kenzie has already lost hearing in her left ear due to an infection, this before they finally diagnosed her and are making her better. If your son is having repeated infections, etc....it is obvious he does need either the IVIG or the subq to help him, good luck and remember if you try the subq and give it a chance you may really be impressed with it, if not, you can always go back to the IVIG Again, I know how hard a decision it is to have to put other peoples plasma in your kids bodies, it just sounds wrong...but i couldnt have been more right and for that I am thankful!!
