Sounds like you FINALLY got to the RIGHT people It is major medical NOT a

pharmacy item. But it does depend on the insurance plan to find what is best for

your family as far as how they cost it out. I am SOOO glad. It really does work

well. I think I told several people but my son prefers his " love handles " or

hips than his tummy or thighs. There is more fat pad there and he says it is

less painful. Just a 2 cents from my now 15yo son. The lump you get over time

will be less and less so let him know it takes a few months for everyone to get

use to it. My son use to use a heating pad and sometimes a cold pad to decrease

the discomfort. He says it stings a little as it is going in but he is getting

use to it.

Subject: SubQ is a go!

We finally got to the right people (still not who Hizentra referred us to)

and it turns out that the subQ will fall under our major medical and not our

specialty Rx as I was originally told and this means we will pay no more

than $1500 for the entire year!! We are doing the first one on Saturday with

a nurse in our home and we are crossing our fingers that he has no

reactions!!

Thanks Barbie for the tips and tricks!! Caelan is so traumatized from the

horrible IV starts lately that I have a feeling this will seem like a breeze

to him. I will certainly try the love handle area although I don't think he

has much to pinch anywhere!

See, our insurance changed specialty drugs from major medical to pharmacy as

of Jan 1st, but somehow this is still going through major medical. The lady

I talked to said it's because it is getting billed all together as one unit

rather than separating out the drug. Works for me!

It is a blood product and not really a drug so that also may be the reason that

it goes to major medical. In some cases having it as a RX item can help if you

have a LARGE deductible.
