Ursula, I think that you don't actually do the employee health screening

until after you are hired, as part of the orientation process (it's been

awhile since I have been in the workplace, though :). It would be

discrimination to not hire someone because of their health

condition/disability. When interviewing for a job, the interviewer is not

allowed to ask about your family, or anything personal, and you shouldn't

volunteer it. You are just supposed to talk about job

experience/requirements/qualifications.

That said, my health interfered with the last full-time job I had, and I

had to take several medical leaves. They didn't like it, but they

couldn't fire me over it, either. I did much better when I worked

part-time, so that is what I eventually did, on a job share. I now work

even harder than before, taking care of my special needs kids, lol.

We are thinking about this same issue for my teen, who isn't old enough

yet to have to make a decision, but does struggle with fatigue. Which

jobs would be healthiest for her to have (i.e. less taxing)? Good luck to

your daughter, Valarie. I don't know the answer for the vaccine question.
