Not at all content. I have been HIV+ for almost 24 years and I still try to keep up with what's going on, thanks very much to you and the participants in this group. As I get older and read about the long term affects of HIV and aging, it causes me much anxiety. I recently went on Medicare, but can't afford a Medicare part D on the measly amount that I am being awarded per month. My medications run somewhere past $56,000 dollars per year and just have been told my insurance is canceling my policy (didn't give a reason) giving me till Dec.31 to go with another with no refusals. It won't cover enough of the meds on this plan. This is what's so horrible for many of us long term survivors, trying to stay on our medications and finding a way to pay for them. I am now turning to Medicaid; they won't allow me to have

anymore than about $5000 thousand dollars in my checking or savings, so I have to find a way to get rid of the other moneys I have stashed away. I guess they are expecting me to come up with the $4000 dollars a month I pay up front for my meds. The worries never end. I can't even have the freedom to have my own apartment because I can't afford the rent. It really is all about the money. My doc said studies have been done where HIV patients took only Prezista and were still achieving undetectable viral loads and maintaining high CD4 counts. It makes me wonder .. do I really need to take all these meds when one will do the trick? So no way am I content with my health and the future obstacles facing my health care.
