Go to youTube and type EFT into the search box and you'll find some great

videos on tapping. I love to tap, but don't always do it. When I do, it

helps like crazy. I'm going to throw some of my favorites into a playlist

on youTube, where my screen name is Stregaa. Long story... Try it,

tapping to a video and you will be hooked.

Bonnie, go to youTube and search for EFT. There are a few Brits who

posted detailed " how-to " videos, but their names escape me and I'm on my way

out. My screen name there is Stregaa and I have an EFT playlist there,

just search for my name.

First off, I heard this on a podcast: " If it's stupid and it works, it's

not stupid. " I prefer to look at this as a necessary absurdity. Try a

statement like: " Even though I feel COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS doing this, I

completely and totally love and accept myself. Even though this looks like the

SILLIEST thing in the world, I know it's going to help me and I completely

love and accept myself. " Acknowledge and embrace absurdity and you will find

yourself laughing. And 30 minutes of good, hard belly laughter a day

keeps the boogeyman way.

I would encourage everyone to try EFT. I am into " alternative medicine " kind of

stuff, and, admittedly, even I think it is one of the goofiest, silliest,

how-in-the-world-could-that-possibly-work? things I've ever done----but it does

work!

I only printed the materials off the website and watch a couple videos.

(Watching the videos is helpful bc you can see that it's a pretty " fluid "

process and no need to get hung up on being super precise about things)

What I've found it helpful for is " releasing " emotions....especially anger,

irritation, etc. I'm the kind of person who has a bad dream, and that " bad "

feeling sticks with me all day in the background. Or I'll get irritated and I

keep thinking those thoughts over and over. So, basically it helps me " get over

it. " To whatever extent those negative emotions influence your overeating, I

think it could be helpful. I don't just do it for the anti-overeating effects,

but for overall wellness (if you believe that negative emotions in fact

influences health in a number of different ways.)

Anyway, just wanted to encourage those who were wondering about it, to actually

try it. IT COULD NOT BE EASIER OR CHEAPER. And by the time you finish the

process, you will probably be laughing at yourself because you'll probably feel

pretty goofy doing it. But try it!

If you go to the EFT website ( Craig's) on the left is a heading that says

" EFT Resources " and under that is " Free videos " . There are also videos on

YouTube.

I had a therapist try EFT with me years ago and I just couldn't get past feeling

" stupid " while doing it, and so I didn't think it helped. How did those of you

who are skeptical overcome that feeling? I'm desperate for pretty much ANYTHING

that will help quiet my negative thoughts. I couldn't even get to the " safe and

secure " point with on the most recent podcasts I am so overwhelmed these

days.

Help?

I guess I didn';t get over it 100 % but you can actually use EFT to

get over that. " Even though i think this is silly, stupid and won't

work, I choose allow it to work anyway "

I am new to the group, but this topic of EFT has me wanting to contibute

some thoughts.

There are numerous ways or techniques people use to release emotions.

We have EFT, accupunture, body work massage, trigger point releases,

myofascial release, journaling, counseling, talking to your

dog/friend/stuffed animal, and some not so therapeutic techniques.

Such as tatoos, body piercing,, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, sex

addiction, gambling, food addiction, peanut butter addiction, punching a

wall, hitting a pillow, beating your kid, shooting your wife, head

banging, cutting, suicide......

I truly wish I had known about the " silly " techniques that are available

in my younger days and could maybe have avoided some of the

nontherapeutic techniques.

I say try it and see. If it works, great! If not, try something else.

What is important is to find a healthy outlet for your emotional

" stuff " and to heal.

Well I have sort of an EFT success story. I had to have a procedure on

Friday which required an IV. Now . . . I am terrified of getting IV's

because it's always been a nightmare. I have terrible veins. The last

time i had surgery, they eventually had to numb my entire arm and it

took the anesthesia TEAM over 45 minutes to find a vein and they ended

up damaging the nerves in my hand to do it. So you can imagine my

reluctance.

So Friday I just visualized an easy stick all morning. When the nurse

came I explained my problem and she brought out the anesthesiologist

We decided to try warm compresses (which I've tried before with no

luck). I kept doing positive affirmations. When they went to get the

equipment I did a quick round of EFT. I swear I am not lying -- The

nurse anesthetist stuck me once and found a vein!!!! It was quite

amazing!!!

Hi everyone,

I have had success, but I have yet to try it out in the weight releasing area. I

am reluctant to use it on everything (although I know it is encouraged) because

I found it is quite powerful and want to make sure I use it properly.

I had unbelievable success with restless leg syndrome. It used to drive me

crazy, and prevent me from getting to sleep, but it cured me for about 3 years,

and then it returned - so I performed EFT again, and its gone away.

You question, has reminded me to try it again - and I'll listen to 's

podcasts on EFT again this weekend to try to get me out of this hiatus.

Regards

Carol

Hey Krystle -- here's a link to a youtube video (if you need to 'see' vs. hear

or read) on a coca cola addiction

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNUeZzx7JaE & feature=related also does EFT

in one of the later episodes (# 83) if you're a 'hearing' learner. Dr. Caro

Look does a series if you prefer to read it

... I find that I enjoy all three!

Craig retired and his website emofree.com has been replaced by

eftuniverse.com.

Another good website is tapping.com.

I couldn't sleep well the other night and I had just listened to the podcast

about snoozing strategies. Well, I tried EFT for the first time. It worked. I

think it worked for a couple of reasons; it allowed me to focus my mind, to calm

myself, to set my intention of sleeping and viola I had a great rest. I just

wanted to share that because I had been a little skeptical of EFT before but

heck I slept well

Good luck all
