Guest guest
Thank you again to all for your support on and off line. It means so much to know that others care and are in your corner. I received phone calls from both the young intern who does CBT with our son, and his supervising doctor. Both showed concern, compassion and in general were very supportive. They assured me that they would be there for my inlaws, and our son, and that we should go on our holiday. So that is what we will do, and I will try to leave everything behind. I visited with my son today and we had a long conversation, just about stuff in general. He was calm and reported that he is feeling calmer. We have just finished tapering off the mood stabilizer so we can hope this was an influence in the current picture. I do find there is a fall out when stopping medication. As well he has a " remedy " (TCM) that he has been taking for a while, but he is finding it is having more impact now that the other medication is gone. Again, we can hope, we know it's not a cure, but it helps him to be more calm he reports. I am encouraged in any case by his general demeanor and our " normal " converstation. We have been finding we can connect with our son more and more as this drug has been stopped, so for him/us it seems to be the right thing, and the drug was the wrong thing. Time will tell... He is still on a low dose of celexa, we know that works for the ocd, but I am loath to increase it, no matter what the doctor says. Thanks again for being there.
