Guest guest
Dear , This week, three men who tortured a 17 year old with Asperger’s syndrome walked away with a sentence of just 80 hours of community service. During a three-day ordeal the teenager suffered abuse including multiple beatings, being force-fed large quantities of alcohol and being covered in dog mess. It is outrageous that these barbaric crimes, like those against Fiona Pilkington, have gone virtually unpunished. Such a violent attack deserves a sentence that reflects the seriousness of the crime. A ruling like this sends the message that the police and the courts do not take disability hate crime seriously. Please email the attorney general Dominic Grieve and ask him to review the sentence to show that hate crime will not be tolerated.
