Sunday _ Tracey Mallett Blue Workout

Hi,

I did the "blue" sexy in 6 workout this morning. The 6 refers to the 6 minute circuits that Tracey works with. In this one there are 3 total body circuits that include cardio and combined/compound exercises using weights. She is efficient and my HR does get up there for those 6 minute circuits. Although, I will say that working out with Jillian definately paid off as this workout was easier than I remembered. Jillian also works in circuits and often incorporates short bursts of higher intensity cardio along with multiple muscle exercises as well. So, Jillian and Tracey do compliment each other quite a bit - Tracey is a little lower key and is more "friendly" and less intimidating.

The rest of the DVD has 3 "mind/body" circuits which are yoga/Pilates fusion type exercises. The final circuit is ab work (Mostly PIlates inspired) done on the mat.

There is a separate warm-up and cool down so for the 6 minutes you are actually working not warming up and cooling down.

I do enjoy these DVDs. I don't think you will build any great strength from them as they are more geared for lighter weights - I'd say 8's max. But they are nice for endurance. And, I probably will be a tad sore from them also. I'm kind of using these as a filler before I start FIRMing next week.

Tomorrow I plan to do Tracey's Super Body Bootcamp Burn It. Which is a bootcamp/kickboxing cardio routine. I haven't done it in a long while. I remember that there is a killer series of mountain climbers though! :) And, there are kickboxing exercises, but the whole thing isn't kickboxing. I think there may be some mat work at the end - but we'll see how much I have remembered (or not) tomorrow! Depending on how long it is I will add on a stretch or maybe some Pilates.

Today, I hope to sneak in some push-ups and maybe a mile on the TM.Take care,
