It was a workout anyway. I'm feeling rather depleted today. Yesterday and Monday were really tough days with long hours and today I'd really just rather sleep but I worked out so yea me! Anyway, I didn't know what I wanted to do. I've been wanting to get back to FIRMing but just couldn't today. I decided to put in Caribbean Workout Kickboxing and was looking forward to trying out one or more of those 30 minute workouts. The entire DVD is a virgin for me. Two workouts are kickboxing on a step and 2 are kickboxing without the step. I was intrigued by the idea of combining kickboxing and step so I put on workout 1 of that type. Well, I got about 5, maybe 10 minutes into it and realized that today is not a good day for this! You hear Mc cueing but they don't show anything except someone's head and the ocean in the background for a long time! It was supposed to be a v-step but I didn't know if it was on the step or on

the floor and no matter how I did it I could see I was really off timing wise and when they finally showed someone's whole body, including feet, I could see that it looked like they were doing some kind of step touch in between each right or left side of the V! I kept trying. Then she cued for some kind of kick and again, they showed a long, lovely shot of a person's head and the ocean and by the time they finally showed the feet too I was frustrated and said, nope, not today. It sounds like fun though, so I will try again, after I watch the entire workout first!

After that I didn't know what I wanted to do. I wanted a bit of a challenge but not a really big one. I put on Freytag's Personal Training instead. I've reviewed this fairly recently so I won't go into a lot of detail this time. There are a bunch of pre-programmed workouts, set up for an entire week (on Monday do this and that and Tuesday do these) for specific training needs. I thought about for health or whatever it said but the programmed workouts didn't hit me today so I clicked on weight loss and the Monday workout was Total Body Toning and Cardio 1. That sounded good and at least slightly FIRMish. This was only my 2nd time doing any workouts on the DVD so I didn't remember anything about them except that I enjoyed them. The toning workout was 10 minutes and hit most areas I though. The reps were short and quick so unless you went heavy you wouldn't get much of a burn and I went light today but it worked well for me.

Cardio 1 was 13 minutes and fun too. I got a little messed up on some of the mostly athletic combos but not too badly (at least they always showed feet on this one!) and it went well enough for today. I didn't have a lot to bring to it but what I had I brought and I felt good when I was done. There's also a 5 minute warm up and 5 minute cooldown (which are the same for any workouts or workout combinations you do). I don't think I'll do the entire weight loss week's sequence right now, but this worked for today. You can definitely make this a harder workout by just working harder than I did and by doing more of the workouts on the DVD in one session. I was following and not the beginner modifier so you could also make it easier.

Anyway, I'm glad I got something in. I hope I go to bed earlier tonight. I can, I just have to force myself to do it. By the time the kids are settled down though, I want to stay up and unwind and be a rebellious child myself too (I'm tired but I don't want to go to bed yet!). I have time for a long workout tomorrow morning and I'd like to have the energy to take advantage of it!
