I was with Mr. Famous last night and probably shouldn't have had that second martini.  I woke up hung over I really wanted to take a rest day but Marina did her workout buddy job and did NOT let me off the hook!

I was going to do R39 again since I roll it out to my class on Sunday, but was happy inside and felt like dancin'.  Marina and I both crush on Shaun T. big time so we did 3 virgin workouts of his!  We started with the lower body one that is 25 minutes long - Hips, Buns & Thighs.  The music was GREAT and my booty indeed was on fire!  What might be called a lunge in any other workout is called a heel toe and you add some funky shoulders to it so you're doing lunges but having FUN!  At the end you're in a table top on the matt and do the good ole Debbie Siebers moves - leg presses, donkey kick type stuff, but Shaun T just oozes his charisma and you keep going.

I remembered that Marina had never seen his tutorial, The Secret to Flat Abs where he demonstrates the core move, Tilt, Tuck and Tighten.  This is the one where he has the cutest cue I've ever heard - for tighten you exhale.  He has you hold your hand in front of your face and says something like, " remember when you were a little kid being cute and you ran out to the car and exhaled on the side view mirror and wrote I love you with a smiley face on it? That's the same move for when you tighten and exhale " .  We were rolling when he said this!  You hold a plank at the end for a good amount of time and also do the C Sit like you might do in a pilates class.  You learn the party bounce and some other core moves too.

We ended with Last Minute Abs, a 5 minute or so routine that is intense and all standing.  The song was " Yeah " by Usher.  Nice!I wanted more cardio and still wanted to dance so I put in Hip Hop Hustle #8 by my gal Chalene!  SO MUCH FUN!  This has a much higher calorie burn than Hip Hop Abs and what I love about this workout is that even a dance klutz like me CAN DO IT!  Chalene does a fantastic job of letting you practice the new dance move before putting it all together from the top.  She has a creative name for each move so that you can remember it - great mnemonic technique. We did the warmup and first block so I'd say we got a goo 25 minutes or so in?  The music on the cd that comes with it is the best yet (I don't have #9 yet) and that is why it really is a good idea to get certified.  The music alone is worth it!  Song #8 " Shake My " by Three 6 Mafia I've listened to over and over and over and over.

I'm pretty sure I sweat out all my toxins and I feel great.  Hope everyone has a super weekend!
