Guest guest
Today's sweaty mess was Fat Burner with , Allie & . It is a 45 minute mostly cardio workout, though there is a good abs/core workout at the end too. I've done this enough now that almost all of the choreography is under control except for this one "short box" step with endless straddle segment that leads. I don't know what it is about it but it totally drives me nuts and I get lost constantly. It isn't hard and it is very repetitive but something about it messes me up. I know this tape well enough now too that when Allie says "Clear your space for low impact aerobics" I know we'll do about 30 seconds of low impact followed immediately by lots of bouncing and plyo jumps and I don't even get annoyed by that anymore! This is probably an intermediate level workout in terms of endurance and it is overall very well done and fun (except 's straddle section). I used an 8" step today and I think I usually use 6" so I'm sure that didn't help me with the straddles but it did help me to get a really good workout. I didn't do video workouts all weekend but I was active two of three days. Saturday after 4 hours of being on my feet working was a 3 hour cleaning and cooking marathon, getting ready for 's family birthday party. No, the house wasn't THAT bad but it was not great and I kept finding more and more things I could do plus I did some prep cooking, including baking the cake. Sunday was the birthday party and yes, I ate cake and ice cream but overall was not out of control so that felt good. We had amazingly gorgeous weather for it and since DH and the kids had cleaned up our porch and outdoor furniture Saturday (they were outdoors, I was indoors) some people ate indoors and some out. I thought about working out after everyone was gone but realized I was really tired and just chose to sit and do absolutely nothing for a while except sit in a chair outside and listen to the birds. I never just sit but it felt really good! Monday we walked a little bit from our parking spot at DH's grandparents' house to the town's tiny Memorial Day parade and then back to their house after the ceremony at the cemetery. After spending time with extended family there (the parade and gathering are family traditions), we went home and I became a decluttering blizzard working on each of the kids' drawers and closets for I don't even know how many hours. I got all of their winter stuff out and put their summer stuff in, packed up stuff that was too small and made arrangements with family members to take it from me (dropped off 3 boxes for my SIL this morning!). I also cleaned out 's closet of all the leftover junk from when he attempted to clean it himself last week. He did a decent job but there was still more. When I got done he was amazed at how easy it was to find things finally. Now, today, I'm attempting to do the same for myself. It is a HUGE task because I've used my closet as a dumping ground for the last year or so and I've been steadily ignoring it. I'm setting my timer for 15 minutes at a time and then taking 15 minute breaks after it goes off each time (my break timer just went off too so it is back to work in a sec) because it is so overwhelmng. I've made tremendous progress so far though and I am hoping to finish it in the next 15-45 minutes. Okay, back to work!
