Guest guest
Hi everyone! I hope you are all surviving the heat and the final days of Summer break. We have moved and are now in Loganville/ Walton Co. in the Youth Elemetary zone. I need so many things that I will just list them. Thanks in advance for always being so helpful and willing to share resources, I am so thankful! A ped who will be okay w/vaccine exemption (I recall someone mentioning a ped in Snellville maybe?)Someone who is kind, caring, patient and obviously competent =) An SLP who is willing to work as a team with ABA/VB staff. I want someone great with ASD kids and uses a playbased/errorless method of teaching versus more Lovaas like approach. An OT who is very trained and experienced in sensory needs of ASD kiddos. I'd love one who is good w/hyperactivity and mega, and I do mean mega sleep issues. Let's just say I am up at 2am cause Jake is up too. I won't go into the novel of things we have tried but know this issue is either medical or sensory based... or perhaps both. ABA/VB therapists to work 25-30 hours a week w/Jake. Would very much prefer someone trained and experienced in Carbone/VB style. However will train if needed. Our 2 girls just left us for different reasons. One didn't want to drive an 1-1.5 hrs each way which she's have to do when we moved. The other just felt that she wasn't getting VB and was so stressed about not getting it right all the time that she was making herself physically ill. Both awesome, huge hearted girls we hated to lose not to mention the 4 months and 8k invensted in training them. But such is life and we will somehow move forward =) A good dentist for Jake (or for that matter my husband and I) An understanding barber or stylist who will cut my son's hair while 3 people hold him down and he screams and swings his head around like a scene from the Exorcist. It is that bad... A good PCP for me and my hubby A good chiro for me A church with a special needs component where my husband and I can attend services knowing Jake is in a safe, loving and hopefully learning environment. We are non-denominational and not into shaming, hell fire and damnation types of churches. Looking for loving, upbeat, positive, active church =) A good GYN for me Any feedback on Youth Elementary and/or private schools in the area that I might be able to utilize or investigate. BTW, Jake is almost 6 and would be entering Kindergarten. Also anything else that might be helpful to know about in the Loganville, Grayson, Snellville and surrounding areas Oh and any leads on babysitters too =) Thanks once again!
