Guest guest
What is LMX? My 5 yo seems to do fine with EMLA but my 2 year.....it doesn't seem to make a difference...it's almost as if I have not put anything on. Does EMLA not work for some kids? Kim From: sievertlaura@... We leave it on for an hour before needle insertion and it usually helps. Even if it helps relieve some anxiety to have it on board it is worth it. It took us a while to get to routines that usually work for us and now Tate knows when he has a bad infusion it doesn't mean the next one will be too. > > What level of pain do your children experience with the insertion of the > subQ needles and does it get better over time? Guest guest
My son refuses EMLA because he HATES the numb feeling. Again he is 15 but he has been doing them without sprays or EMLA for 4 years. He says it hurts less when he does not use anything. But he also had several years of fighting me in the middle of this time period BARBIE ________________________________ From: Steltz <kmay77@...> Sent: Sat, January 22, 2011 5:27:23 PM Subject: RE: Re: SubQ Needle insertion What is LMX? Guest guest
Macey's used LMX for 3 of the 4 past years. The first year she used Emla and then the pharmacy co. changed formularies and the contract was for LMX. Both worked well. She leaves it on for an hour. Guest guest
My son holds an ice cube on his site for a minute...when he is ready, I alcohol wipe and insert. It works for him...
