Guest guest
I pulled my bottled KT out of the cabinet and put in the fridge yesterday. I burped them all again before they went in there. The Antioxia Juice (a blend of antioxidant rich berries) ones had that mist coming off of them like beer gets. The Blueberry one took forever to burp because the fizz was spilling out over the sides! I tried to burp it slowly, but after 15 minutes of fussing I just let it fizz over. I also bottled some Saskatoon KT, Ginger KT, and Blueberry Ginger. YUM YUM! We did some traveling the past couple of days. I didn't want to miss out on my scrumptious KT, so I put some in a water bottle to bring with me. I don't mind it when it's room temp, though I do enjoy it more cold. I'll be bottling again on Wednesday, but only from my 1 1/2 Gal Sun Tea jar. I put the scobies from the other two batches into a hotel last week. I did get some fresh ginger today, so I'm going to try the candied ginger and fresh ginger side by side and see what the difference in flavour is. I like putting fresh ginger in my morning smoothies. I read somewhere to freeze it, and pull out a chunk whenever I need it. Grate it into honey, and keep that in the fridge. It works good for flavoring my smoothies anyway. I should get some Kefir within the next week or so. I'm looking forward to experimenting with that. I'll use that in my smoothies instead of my Goat's Yogurt. I've been reading about making Kefir Cream Cheese too, and then using the whey that comes out from making the cheese in home made bread instead of the water. I told my hubby today that my Kitchen is becoming a Mad Scientist Lab. :-D I want to learn more about fermented veggies and sprouting grains and such. Anyway, the sharing about my scrumptious KT turned into a bit of a novel, so I'll sign off for now. Hope everyone is having a lovely evening. Warmly, Velma
