Guest guest
Ugh Ursula. Hope it gets better. I think we may be headed down the same road with Maggie. She has been complaining of her thumb hurting for days. It is not her nail bed, but is the other side of her thumb...on the big part (pad). She has an area that looks like a 1st degree burn that is starting to crack. I thought maybe she got bit by a spider because the spiders are all hatching our here right now and everyone is getting bitten. But it has been going on for a couple of weeks and not getting better. She was complaining about it again last night. UGH....another trip to the docs. She is really struggling right now and her immuno told us last week that he wants her back to the clinic.....all the way across the country. I have a felling she is headed for a bone marrow biopsy. We soaked in epson salts till monday when they said it had to be opened. Local in the surgeons office. Drained it, cultured it and started on Bactrim DS twice a day. > > Back today for recheck and no better. Told to watch tonight and if borders change she goes back tomorrow. Guest guest
This group has so many knowledgeable parents it's a little intimidating so, I've never posted before. However, I've heard Manuka Honey kills MRSA. You apply it and cover the area. I know even natural remedies are sometimes difficult with our kids, but I thought I'd put it out there for you to research and decide. I hope it helps and hope she gets better soon. Guest guest
I had one on my thumb a few years ago. I tried everything til they finally opened it and it went away quickly. Hope it is the same for Macey. The infection got in after a hangnail. From: uahollem@...
