Guest guest
Hi everyone! Nice to meet you all I would really like to get started on Kombucha but I have a bit of a problem. Basically in our house it is only about 11 degrees celsius in the warmest part- and I think it dips a lot lower at night. Having read up about Kombucha, I suspect it won't grow at all in such temperatures, and even if it did it wouldn't work very well. I had wondered about a heating mat, but my flatmate isn't keen as we are worried it will make for a huge electricity bill. She is getting a fishtank however, which costs about a pound (2 dollars) a day to run. So if it didn't cost much more than that I might be able to get away with it, since she has her fun and I can have mine! I am in the UK so it would be pretty impossible getting things from the US as the postage is astronomical and I'm unemployed and on a really low budget. Haas anyone experience of growing Kombucha successfully in a low temperature and what did you do? We don't have any airing cupboards or warm rooms so we're rather stuck at present! Thank you very much for reading! Joanna x
