Finding A New Doctor.....

I despise finding a new physician anytime that I may relocate, an dmy partner

and I have relocated more times than I care to count. We have lived in New

Mexico, Wyoming, Nevada, Florida, Alabama, Nebraska, Texas (very briefly, 1 day

was too long),Mississippi, and now finally back to New York. It is absolutely

horrible to locate a new doctor. My partner goes to the VA, so his care is a

little more straightforward. Me, I don't, so I have to depend on the usual and

if the state, such as New Mexico and New York, pre-existing care insurance. New

Mexico had a decent program, where we got Blue Cross Blue Shield of NM. I am

thinking that NY has something similar, probably even better.

Back to finding a new doctor. It can be so difficult to find one that is a good

fit. For example, the physician that I had in Roswell, NM, I didn't care for at

all; however, the female doctor that I had in San , NM was great!!!! Her

name was Dr. Celia Tellez, in the event any of you are in that area. So we are

back in upstate New York, and I am very glad of it. My partner will be seeing

the VA in Syracuse, while I will be going to Dr. Duah in Watertown, NY. If I

don't care for her, I can always go back to Upstate University Hospital in

Syracuse. There just seems to be so much going on when looking for a new

physician. Do they listen??? Are they out to write the most expensive

prescriptions for my blood pressure medications, so they get the perks from the

pharmaceutical company...??? My doctor in Roswell, NM did this. I really

didn't care for him.

When relocating, how do you guys go about finding a new physician??? Or if on

White/ADAP are you more directed to who your ASO utilizes?
