Although the chemo is not "recreational," it is highly successful.Sorry you're being introduced to HIV spectrum disease this way.JB
Guest guest
Hi--Sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis, but as you say his prognosis is good--NHL is fairly common and easily treated. Most people do quite well after completing treatment. I don't know of any online support groups specifically for those with HIV & cancer--a cursory search on didn't turn anything up. You don't say where you are, but the AIDS Malignancy Consortium (www.aidscancer.org) has research sites at many major universities if you need a second opinion with researchers familiar with treating HIV & cancer. Keep us posted, and good luck! We were also diagnosed HIV+ Nov 1st. We estimate my Husband contracted the virus 5-6 years ago and gave it to me when we began dating 2 years ago. I am trying to connect with anyone who has dealt with both HIV and NHL. He starts chemo on Friday and his prognosis is quite positive but I would love if we had some connection to someone also living with this. Any response is appreciated.
