Blake was inpatient last Sept. for H1N1...he was there for 2 SCIG.

His Dr. was well aware of his need for the treatment.  He does Gammagard S/D.

She told me to bring in everything he needed to do treatment & let the Pharmacy

Tag it(the system has to tag any meds. put into a patient). I took all supplies

(whth the perscription info on it).

The only problem we ran int was the Pharamcy was too scared to run something

into a child that was NOT FDA Approved.  But the pediatrician did all her

homework & told them he had been doing SCIG for 2-1/2 yrs & we had gotten the

FDA approval through Medical Mercies.  After that there has been NO question

as

to if we can do it there or not....As long as your dr. approves it and has

written the script for it.  Since Sept. Wh have also don SCIG at the hospital

when doinghis IV Pamidronate(Meds. for Osteoporosis).

Good luck

Subject: SCIG in the hospital?

I'm wondering if anyone here has ever had their child in patient in

the hospital when they needed SCIG - what did you do? Do you bring

your own medicine/supplies and infuse as you would at home? I'm

guessing not all hospitals would be okay with that... do they supply

meds and supplies or do you just do it IV? I have a friend who asked

me what would happen in that situation and I didn' t know the answer.
