Guest guest
Complaining about Internet sex sites and the spread of HIV is like the people who used to make horseshoes a hundred years ago complaining about all the car accidents ( car accidents kill lots of people, so let's go back to horses and buggies ) . The spread of HIV is primarily due to people who are infected but don't yet know it having unprotected sex. The data so far largely suggests that people on effective anti-viral medications probably could not transmit HIV even if they were trying to do that, so even allowing for the psychos with malicious intent, I think that this whole issue is way overblown. If you were to ask people who are age 30 and over if they are hooking up anymore than they used to b/c of the internet, I bet the results would be that they hook up about the same amount as before the advent of hook up sites. I would certainly blame alcohol and meth more than I blame Internet web sites for the spread of HIV. In my opinion this is a red herring. Also, I think that anyone who is poz who puts their HIV status on an Internet web site to be seen, judged, opined and gossiped about by literally thousands of people who they are never going to have sex with is borderline insane unless you really don't care about your privacy anymore. I actually lost a job b/c someone saw my HIV Positive status on ManHunt and happened to know someone who worked at the company that was hiring me. The only thing that matters, and the only thing that has always mattered whether you are HIV Positive or HIV Negative, is how you behave when you have a real 3D person in front of you who you are about to have actual sex with. I would bet that most of what takes place on supposed hook up internet sites is fantasy virtual sex amongst a bunch of alter-egos. Phil Any original elements and / or substance count in the virtual void. Please display your own perticular brand of it. Cheers.
