This sounds lovely! Thanks for the review. This is now on my wishlist. On Wed, Apr 28, 2010 at 7:46 PM, Pink Pussycat <pinkpussycat@...> wrote:

I had eagerly awaited this yoga practice all day.  I caved and bought his new dvd, The Pursuit of Happy Hips.  I have all of Eoin Finn's dvd's, and I must say this is by far the best one, hands down. The setting is breathtakingly beautiful in the mountains, right by a river, and on the other side of the river is a city.  The soundtrack is lovely and stays in the background, and there is always one person doing modifications.  The routine is much like his others, but the two main ones are:

1) only a couple rounds of sun salutations2) there is this one move where you're in a downdog, take the right leg out to the side and up and hold.  OW!  and then you take that same leg underneath the  other leg to the other side and hold your whole body on the right hand which he calls Tripod Pose.  Tough!

Eoin has become a more polished instructor over the years.  In his first dvd where he has a mustache he speaks quicky and sounds tense.  His voice is very even in this one, and full of genuine love as in Power Yoga For Happiness.  In Pure and Simple I didn't hear happiness or peace in his voice.  The Surfers' Edition is good, but man I have to say this one is my favorite.  Thank you for letting me know about this!

I did the long 80 minute practice so I'm assuming the other 3 practices on the dvd are composites of this one. My only critique is that while there are plenty of backbends, there aren't enough forward folds (imo) and lower back openers.

I look forward to exploring the other practices!  There are some extras on the dvd that go over form and also, yoga and athletics and some others.Hope everyone's having a blissful evening!
