Guest guest
If a group of us want to be e-buddies, I find that no different than people who e-mail each other off-list for more personal support. I've had some great chats with folks off list. I started a ning site because it has traditional discussion boards to keep threads separate yet collected under specific topics and also has a chat room where we can have live discussions. I would be incredibly happy to give full access and control of the Ning board to and her representatives. On a group you can't set up a " topic " and have everyone reply to it. It's all e-mail threads which get reduced to Re:re:Re:re:Re: .... When things go off topic, starting a new thread defeats the point of keeping it organized and people can lose interest. I personally think a group is an antiquated, ineffective way to conduct separate discussions. They're not easily organized, even in digest form, people quote and requote and requote previous posters leaving a thread confused and unreadable in the archives. are best for intros, announcements, and general keeping in touch. But this is just my opinion from having moderated several , facebook groups, ning groups, and traditional discussion boards. I'm happy to chatter here, in private e-mails and on the ning site, http://iowlfans.ning.com/ Cheers!
