Guest guest
we use the 3m stuff as well, Kenzie is sensitive to tape as well, the tegraderm would burn her!! honestly, you need something really good to hold it in, if it pops out you lose a lot of precious meds and have to clamp that site off, so you need to use something that is secure, your little one will get used to the pulling off of the film in time for sure!! Kenzie still doesnt like that part but she says it is way better with the 3M. Also I think once you do it awhile it pulls off all those little hairs and it isnt as bad with time, I am sure the others know what I mean with that. Glad to know it went well, Kenzie was very moody the first several times til she got the hang of it, so that will pass too. We use Advil as a pre med, as it helps her with the discomfort, we do not need to use Benadryl as she is on Zyrtec and that helps her with the rest. But if your little one can't stand the itching, I would do the Benadryl at least a half hour before you start treatment. Our nurse also taught Kenzie to " tap " the areas that itch her, never to scratch or rub, the tapping over the sites while it is going sends that message that it was scratched, even though it wasnt really and will help with that good luck and keep us posted Makenzie 10
