Guest guest
Hi there, I had to go on Medicare after being on SSDI for two years. I chose not to take out a supplemental policy but if you do please compare several policies to see what they cover. Medicare does not cover dental or vision. You need to get a Medicare Part D policy to cover your medications. I like Bravo but again you need to some research. What I chose to use instead of a supplemental is Medicaid, but that is based on income and you wouldn't pay anything monthly but it would have what is called a " share of cost " per month but that really only comes into play if you have a large medical bill like hospitalization and you would only pay that amount for the month the service was rendered. The downside to that is a lot of Doctors won't take you if you have Medicare but no supplemental insurance. To get on a Medicaid based program you need to talk to your county welfare department but again it is income based so the amount could vary greatly. If you want to know more about it you can write to me offline. I have been through all the paperwork processes with these systems! I do like being on Medicare for the most part.... Good luck on your new ventures! Nena > > As I am turning 65, I will be ending my PPO Blue Cross health insurance and > going into Medicare, thankfully.
