Guest guest
Just wanted to post a quick message thanking everyone for the advice and suggestions to help out with our first at-home infusion. Today's infusion went so much better than last week in the clinic! It seemed to infuse slower, but overall the whole process was so much easier. To cover the EMLA cream we cut a piece of plastic baggy and then used some of the SelfGrip Athletic Bandage to wrap around his tummy to hold it in place. It worked well and he didn't flip out when we took it off. He was pretty calm when I put the needle in (just a little whining) and did great for the infusion. He did grab at his side a few times, but we re-assured him it was fine. He was a little apprehensive about taking the needle out. He had a really big lump, swelling, and redness just like last time. This time I gave him Tylenol during the infusion and he didn't complain about the pain much at all. Tonight at bedtime the lump had gone down a bit. Anyways, wanted to thank you all for the great ideas.
