Guest guest
My 2 yr old started subQ the beginning of Dec. Everything was going great. She doesn't have any side effects and will just sit there while I do it. We had a bad experience with our nurse so we didn't have her come out again after that first time. I think I knew more than she did. Well everything was great until 2 weeks ago when I was done with her infusion I found that most if not all leaked out and was all over her clothes. She was sleeping on the couch so I know she didn't do anything to make it happen. Because of this I have paid a lot more attention to everything so that I can avoid that from happening again. We use a 6 mm needle in her stomach. What I see is it looks like the needle doesn't go all the way in. I put the needles in and them tape them down. Then when I look at the skin where the needles went in it actually looks like a dimple with the needle in the middle and I can see some of the needle still. Almost like something wont let it go all the way in and the skin is getting pushed down. I called my home health company and she didn't know what to do. She was looking to see if there were any other types of 6 mm needles that we could try but they don't have any. I need any advice as to what I should do. Right now I sit and hols pressure on the needles so that I know they stay in far enough but she crys off and on the whole time where she didn't before. Oh the Dr said that she doesn't have any scar tissue at all and her belly is doing great. So I have no idea. Thanks for any help. mom to 6 1 with hyper Igm transplanted at 6 months 1 with an unknown PID
