Brew in same container you steep tea in. Concentrated, then cool with water and

add sweetener/food of choice. Add SCOBY. Done in minutes. FAST and GOOD.

Brews faster since has larger surface/opening than most " jars. "

OK..Patti! i like brewing in glass for more than one reason, brewing your own

have the ultimate control, and the vessel even if stainless steel will leach

iron, and who knows..about long term effects..

Advertising? The link takes me to a blog, with no merchandise or prices listed.

Glass is not the only acceptable material for fermenting. However, " stainless

steel " is a broad term, as different amounts of chromium and nickel (and

sometimes molybdenum) can be mixed with iron, and cold-working affects the

hardness of the resulting alloy. In other words, some stainless steel is harder

and has much better corrosion resistance than other stainless steel. That's not

to say stainless steel is safe or unsafe, but without knowing the composition I

certainly wouldn't use such a pot for fermentation.

I'd be willing to bet that the commercial kombucha brewers use plastic or metal

containers for fermenting.
